After a wedding, a shower or a graduation, the thank-you cards are the job nobody plans for. Every guest deserves a note that mentions their gift, and every note should look written, because a printed thank-you still reads as a shortcut. Penmark writes each note in your own handwriting from what you type, and you print the cards at home for free.
Try it free, a ready-made hand and a first note in secondsLanguages, no fine print: Penmark writes the Latin letters a-z without accents (so English, Indonesian and Tagalog are written in full), Hebrew without niqqud, digits and math. It does not write Devanagari (Hindi, Marathi, Nepali), Arabic or Urdu script, Cyrillic (Russian, Ukrainian), or accented Latin letters such as á, ñ, ü, ç and ş. In Spanish, Turkish, German or French text those letters are left out, and the tool lists which ones.
Type each note with the guest's name and gift. A page renders in seconds, so eighty notes is an evening.
Each character is captured three times from your template and alternated, so card sixty looks like card one.
Download a PDF or PNG, print on card stock or plain paper at home, and sign each card in pen.
No account and no per-card fee, whether you have eight guests or two hundred.

If you want real ink on the card and no printing or stamps at all, a robot pen service is the right tool, and it is a good one. A machine holds an actual pen and writes the card, so the ink sits in the paper the way a pen leaves it, and the cards are mailed for you. For a large order or a business, the time saved is worth the price.
For eighty wedding cards the math is different. At $6 to $8 a card plus postage, or $300 for 80 notecards with postage, the service costs about as much as a good dinner out, and Penmark costs nothing. What you give up is the real ink and the mailing: you print the notes and add the stamps yourself.
Etiquette guides agree on one thing: name the gift, and say one specific thing about it or about the guest. Keep your gift list beside you and change those two lines for each note; the opening and the closing can stay the same. Two or three sentences fill a card, and about 100 words fill a full page at the default size, so raise the size for a short note.
Because there is no automatic mail merge, each note is its own render: edit, render, download, a few seconds each. That turns out to be an advantage, because every note gets its own gift line, which is exactly what a form letter never does. With your own hand loaded, repeated letters inside a note come from the three variations you wrote, so no word looks stamped.
Your guests know your writing, so for a wedding the template is worth the 10-20 minutes: print the English template (7 pages, 128 characters), write each character three times with a dark pen, and upload a photo of each page. On a phone, start with one of the 90 ready-made hands and fill the template later on a computer, since it needs a printer.
A few things need rewording: there is no ampersand (write Maya and Daniel), accented letters in names are left blank and listed, and emoji are not drawn. For business thank-you notes to clients there is a separate client notes page, and for printed invitations with designed backgrounds, the invitation page.
Penmark writes them in your own handwriting for free, and you print them at home. Fill one pen template once (about 10-20 minutes in total), type each note with the guest and the gift, and download a PDF or PNG for each. If you want them written in real ink and mailed for you, a robot pen service does that for a fee per card.
Many people still expect a handwritten note, and a typed one can read as a shortcut. Penmark prints your own handwriting, which is a middle ground; signing each card in pen keeps a real hand on it.
Penmark is free. The services we checked on 24 October 2026 listed $6 to $8 per card plus postage (thankyou.cards), $300 for 80 notecards with postage (Stylograph), and $3.75 per card plus postage (Handwrytten).
